ex-lib with. In my humble opinion, one of the most spirited (no pun intended) musicals in the past 50 years. I know Melba Moore became famous with "I Got Love" from this musical, but her song, "Purlie" is a show stopper, too.

The story of a black preacher who returns home to rural Georgia to claim an inheritance and bring down Ol' Cap'n Stonewall Jackson Cotchipee, the ruthless plantation owner that he once served.
